What do you like most about teaching English?

Mrs Harvie
You get to know all your pupils because you see them almost every day. Everyone understands that they need English and so most of them are always striving to get better. I love telling stories, both your own and other people's which is what English is about.

Theo

How vital do you think English is as a subject?

Mrs Harvie
English is everything, success in English enables you to succeed in all subjects. Even maths, without English you couldn't read the problems.

Theo

What was your best subject at school?

Mrs Harvie
German

Theo

Do you have a favourite teaching experience?

Mrs Harvie
It's not really a favourite experience but I like the fun of teaching. Everyday is a new day with new things to laugh about, basically, teaching is fun.

Theo

Any advice for people pursuing a career in teaching?

Mrs Harvie
Be prepared to take your work home with you. Nothing beats a good list! (Laughs) Don't take yourself too seriously

Theo

Your dream holiday destination?

Mrs Harvie
California. In the past, I've enjoyed camping in Luxembourg and visiting Krakow. Krakow has a lot of history, and has been unspoiled over the years so the buildings still bear their medieval fronts.
