Sports

Madras college teaching staff offers a range of sporting extra-curricular activities which cater for a large proportion of the pupil body. Sporting activities take place over the various school venues by experienced and interested staff.

Pupils are encouraged to participate in any training sessions where they can put themselves forward for selection to teams. Pupils may also participate in the activities just for the fun and social nature of the sports.

To further encourage pupil involvement and not to handicap those from outlying areas buses leave Kilrymont Road at 5.00pm picking up at South Street and Station Park, before travelling via Guardbridge, Leuchars, Tayport, Newport, Wormit and Gauldry. The bus is free of charge with pupils being given passes by their coach or teacher. Different passes are available to excluded towns. If pupils are involved in any matches – home or away - they are asked to pay £2.00 as a contribution to the significant travel costs and affiliation fees. No charges are levied for training.

It is thanks to the willingness, enthusiasm and unpaid time from the teaching staff that these extensive sporting activities do run in this school.
