Kilrymont Road Library

The Library is open daily, including interval and lunchtimes throughout the school day, and after school until 4.30pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Late bus passes are available.

Kilrymont Road Library has seating for 33, with study tables and a computer area with 5 computers and a mono laser printer.

The Library uses an automated Library system, Heritage. There is an on-line Library catalogue station (the OPAC). All Library resources held on both sites are listed here. Users can search by single word or phrase, or for author, title, keywords and genre.

The Library has an extensive print fiction and non-fiction collection, for all levels of ability, ranging from easy-to-read books to classic fiction, and information books to support the curriculum and inform personal interests. We also have magazines. Whilst we do not take a hard copy daily paper, there is free access online through membership of Fife Libraries, which is available to all pupils and staff.

  • Loans are issued for a two-week period. If pupils are due to have a planned absence (eg for holiday or hospital) we can arrange an extended loan period at the time of issue.

  • Books may be returned at any time on or before the due date.

  • Books must be returned to Library staff to have the loan removed from the borrower's record. If there are no Library staff on duty, books should be returned to the Pupil Services Office next door. If a renewal of this loan is required, a note may be left with the book, and Library staff will update the loan and return the book to the borrower.

  • Loans may be renewed, but the book must be presented to be re-stamped.

  • Pupils are responsible for the items they borrow. If they are lost or damaged, they are charged at replacement cost.

  • Overdue reminders are sent to class. If we get no result from the reminder, or if we are approaching a holiday period, letters are sent home with a note of the replacement cost due if the item cannot be returned.
